KATHIE JIANG is the Program Coordinator for the Association for Public Art, overseeing the development and implementation of dynamic and engaging programs with Philadelphia’s rich and evolving landscape of public art.
Kathie joins the aPA with a background in arts and cultural institutions, scholarly publishing, marketing, and the public service sector. Originally from San Diego, California, she studied art history at Cornell University and holds a Master’s of Liberal Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. She has extensive experience working at a range of museums, including the Getty Research Institute, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the H. F. Johnson Museum. In addition, she has worked as an English Language Coordinator at Philadelphia’s oldest refugee resettlement agency, Nationalities Service Center; as well as as a communications associate at a social impact-driven public relations firm, Strategic Communications & Planning. Prior to joining the Association for Public Art, she worked as a marketing and client management assistant at the University of Pennsylvania Press.
She is passionate about the power of public art for bringing people together, sparking dialogue, inspiring change, and creating lasting community and connection.
