Public art has risen to new heights around Philadelphia! The Fairmount Park Art Association is currently featured on eight digital billboards located in and around the city. The new digital billboards (which replaced existing billboards) show three different artworks photographed during the day and at night – demonstrating that Philadelphia’s public art is “always open.” Day shots are displayed on the boards during the day, and night shots of the artworks are shown at night. Each image is shown for eight seconds at a time.
The billboards were designed by Tierney Communications with photographs taken by Gregory Benson for the Art Association. Clear Channel owns the boards and offered free space to several local non-profit organizations as a way to showcase the new technology. The Art Association boards will be visible for the next several weeks.
